Specifies how the gap between the printhead and platen changes when either the carriage moves over blank space or when the paper is fed over blank space. In this case, “blank space” is an area without printing.

The gap changes according to the values of n and m

n=0 or 48 The gap remains unchanged when the carriage moves

n=1 or 49 The gap increases to maximum when the carriage moves

m=0 or 48 The gap remains unchanged when the paper is fed

m=1 or 49 The gap increases to maximum when the paper is fed
