Limited Warranty Terms

Verbatim Limited warrants this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 2 years from date of purchase. This warranty excludes batteries. If this product is found to be defective within the warranty period, it will be replaced at no cost to you. You may return it with your original cash register receipt to the place of purchase or contact Verbatim.

Votre disque dur est pré-formaté pour une utilisation immédiate avec les ordinateurs Apple Macintosh sous Mac OS. Il est formaté en HFS+. Si vous avez l’intention de n’utiliser votre disque dur qu’avec des ordinateurs exécutant Mac OS, vous pouvez conserver le formatage effectué avant sa sortie d’usine.

Si vous avez l’intention d’utiliser votre disque dur avec des ordinateurs fonctionnant sous Windows, ou avec des ordinateurs utilisant Mac OS et Windows, vous devez le reformater aﬁn qu’il soit reconnu par Windows avant d’y enregistrer des données. Consultez votre documentation Windows pour savoir comment le formater en NTFS. Si vous préférez le formater en FAT32, consultez le site www.verbatim-europe.com

Remarque : 1 Mo = 1 000 000 octets/1 Go = 1 000 000 000 octets/1 To = 1 000 000 000 000 octets. Il s’agit des capacités utilisées pour les logiciels préchargés, le formatage et d’autres fonctions. Elles ne sont donc pas disponibles pour le stockage de données. Par conséquent, et en raison de méthodes de calcul différentes, votre système d’exploitation peut vous signaler un nombre inférieur de mégaoctets/gigaoctets/téraoctets.

Connexion De Votre Disque Dur Portable

Vous pouvez connecter votre disque dur à un ordinateur avec un cordon FireWire ou USB mais pas avec les deux à la fois.

La connexion de votre disque dur à votre ordinateur est une tâche très simple. Suivez les étapes ci-dessous.

1.Pour une connexion FireWire, connectez le cordon FireWire (fourni) à partir du port FireWire situé sur le disque dur vers un port FireWire disponible sur votre ordinateur. Pour une connexion USB, connectez le cordon USB en Y (fourni) à partir du port USB situé sur le disque dur vers un port USB disponible sur votre ordinateur. Certains ordinateurs limitant l’alimentation sur un port USB, il est possible que vous deviez également connecter la deuxième prise du cordon en Y à un deuxième port USB de votre ordinateur aﬁn de fournir au disque dur l’alimentation nécessaire.

2.Le disque dur est installé automatiquement et une nouvelle icône apparaît sur le bureau (Mac) ou dans Poste de travail (Windows).

Les remarques suivantes s’appliquent selon le système d’exploitation de votre ordinateur et le type d’interface que vous utilisez :

Remarque 1 : USB sous Windows. Si vous utilisez un port USB 1.1 sur votre ordinateur Windows, il

est possible que l’avertissement suivant apparaisse sur votre écran : Périphérique USB à haut débit connecté à un concentrateur USB à débit réduit. Ceci n’indique pas qu’il existe un problème car le disque dur est compatible avec les ports USB 1.1 et USB 2.0. Fermez simplement le message et continuez. Toutefois, dans ce cas, le disque dur ne fonctionnera qu’aux débits USB 1.1.
