Working with the Tablet PC

Setting up WLAN access

•Requirement: A WLAN must be available and you must have the corresponding access information.

Information on conﬁguring the WLAN access can be found in the documentation for your operating system.

Access via UMTS

If you ordered an integrated UMTS module with your system, you can enjoy optimum reception and maximum energy efﬁciency without awkward cables or antennas. The optional UMTS module is ready for use straight away.

If you did not order a UMTS module, you can purchase the accessories for UMTS reception from your retailer or your Fujitsu Technology Solutions dealer.

You will ﬁnd information on establishing the connection with the UMTS network in the documentation for the hardware used.

You can connect your device with the Internet via UMTS. To do this, use one of the following types of connection:

•a USB dongle (a USB stick with your mobile phone provider’s SIM card)

•mobile end-device (e.g. mobile phone with Bluetooth or cable connection)

GPS

Whether or not your device has this function depends on the selected device expansion stage.

If your device is equipped with an integrated GPS module, you can use your device as a navigation system with the help of a corresponding software programme.
