To check the network name, Open Android Settings and touch Mobile networks.

Disabling data roaming on mobile networks

Disable the data roaming function to avoid unwanted charges when you are traveling with your tablet to areas covered by other carriers’ mobile networks.

To disable the data roaming function, Open Android Settings and touch Data usage. Then switch off Mobile data.

Limiting mobile data connection to 2G networks

If your battery power is low and you are unable to charge the battery, limit the mobile data connection to a 2G network to extend your battery life. A slower network connection consumes less power.

Note: When you are connected to a 2G network, you might want to postpone activities that transmit a lot of data, such as sending, uploading, or downloading pictures or videos, until you can charge your battery and connect your tablet to a faster mobile network or other wireless network.

To limit data connection to a 2G network, open Android Settings and touch Mobile networks Use only 2G networks

Editing or creating a GSM access point name

If your tablet connects to a Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) mobile network (2G or 3G), and you need to edit the settings for an existing access point name (APN) or create a new APN, you must obtain the APN and detailed settings from your service carrier.

To edit or create a new APN, do the following:

1.Open Android Settings and touch Mobile networks Access Point Names.

2.Touch an existing APN to edit it or touch New APN to create a new one. Enter the APN settings that you obtained from your carrier by touching each setting that you need to edit.

3.When you are finished, touch Save.

Connecting to a mobile data network

A SIM card is required to connect to a mobile network. Refer to “Installing the SIM card” on page 23 for instructions on how to install a SIM card.

Note: Some tablets support access to Wi-Fi networks only. See “Connecting to a Wi-Fi network” on page 25 for instructions on connecting to a Wi-Fi network.

Depending on your tablet model and place of purchase, you might be guided to connect to your mobile network as soon as you turn on the tablet for the first time and configure the initial setup. During the initial setup, if a SIM card is detected, you are given the option to activate your mobile network account.

If you chose not to activate your account at that time, you can activate your mobile network account after you install a SIM card by doing the following:

1.Open Android Settings. Touch Data usage and switch on Mobile data.

2.Touch Mobile networks Activate device and follow the instructions on the screen to activate your mobile network account and connect to the mobile network..

To manually select a network, do the following:
