Chapter 10 Broadcast Alert Management

Alert Types

Alert Types

Broadcast Server allows users to send three types of alerts – emergency, normal, and background alerts.

Emergency alerts

Emergency alerts are pushed immediately, override other alerts, and are sent with barge priority.

Alerts automatically “rotate” for their display duration. This means that if multiple alerts are sent to a phone; Broadcast Server will display each alert for the display period set for that alert and then move on to the next alert. This cycle keeps repeating until the subscribing user presses the “Exit” button.

Normal alerts

Normal alerts are pushed to a phone when it is idle.

Background alerts

Background alerts are pushed directly to the Alerts list in the Voice Office menu.
