1-2 Choosing a Place for the Printer

nAvoid locations in direct sunlight or subject to excessive heat (such as near heaters).

■Avoid using or storing the printer in places subject to excessive moisture.

nDo not use or store the printer in a dusty or dirty area.

nChoose a stable, horizontal surface for the printer. Avoid places subject to intense vibration or shock.

W Make sure there is enough space around the printer so that it can be used easily.

1-3 Removing the Transportation Damper

The transportation damper must be removed before turning on the printer. Open the printer cover and remove the damper as shown below.
