Installing CD-ROM

Before you begin to install your CD-ROM, make sure you have the items listed below. In most cases, these items will not come with your CD-ROM. See your local computer re-

tailer to purchase them.

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

CD-ROM Software Driver (when installing on a PC the software driver must be written for the SCSI host adapter card you have installed in your computer system)

SCSI Host Adapter Board (PC systems only)

SCSI Interface Cable

External Terminator (TXM6401F1 installations only)

Power Cord (TXM6401F1 installations only)

INSTALLING AN INTERNAL CD-ROM (XM-6401B)

The instructions that follow are for use on PC systems only. In order to install your internal CD-ROM successfully, you will need to com- plete the following steps:

Install SCSI host adapter board in your computer system (if not already installed).

Set jumper settings on CD-ROM.

Install CD-ROM inside your computer.

Using a SCSI cable, connect CD-ROM to SCSI interface card.

Connect +5/+12V power cable to internal CD-ROM drive.

Connect a sound cable to your CD-ROM (optional).

Load CD-ROM driver software (driver is obtained from your SCSI host adapter manufacturer).
