4.When the following screen appears, make sure that the Switch’s serial port settings are as follows:

BAUD RATE: 19200

DATA BITS: 8

PARITY: None

STOP BITS: 1

FLOW CONTROL: None

Click the OK button.

Web Management

Web management is available after the Switch has been configured with a valid IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway (for Layer 2 mode) via the console interface. Use a standard Web browser (Internet Explorer 4.0 or above, or Netscape Navigator 4.0 or above is suggested) from any computer attached to the network. The Switch has a default IP address of 192.168.1.254 and a default subnet address of 255.255.255.0.

Telnet Management

Telnet management is available after the Switch has been configured with a valid IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway (for Layer 2 mode) via the console interface. Use telnet from any computer attached to the network.

SNMP/RMON Management

SNMP/RMON management is available after the Switch has been configured with a valid IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway (for Layer 2 mode) via the console interface. Manage the Switch from any network computer using network management software.

Note: The Switch’s configuration program only provides access to basic configuration functions. To access the full range of SNMP management functions, you must use SNMP-based network management software.
