1 INTRODUCTION

The LAN PC Card shown in Figure 1-1 (referred to as the 3C589D-TP PC Card in this guide) is a network adapter that allows you to connect your PC to an Ethernet network using a 15-pin network cable.

The 3C589D PC Card complies with the PC Card standard and operates in PCs containing Personal Computer Memory Card International Association (PCMCIA) Release 2.0 or 2.1 Type II or Type III slots.
