Configuration Procedures

Procedure for Using a Name Server

To configure a DNS server, enter the following command:

set config domain=domain myname=name dns=ip-address

where

domain is the domain in which the Digi One/PortServer TS 2/4 will reside

name is a DNS name for Digi One/PortServer TS 2/4

ip-addressis the IP address of a name server

Example: set config domain=digi.com myname=poe dns=204.221.1.4

Procedure for Using a Host File

Use this section to configure the host table, which maps IP addresses to host names.

Enter the following command

set host name=name ip=ip-address

where

name is the name the host

ip-addressis the IP address of the host

Example

In this example, three IP address-to-name mappings are configured

set host name=poe ip=204.221.110.200

set host name=gary ip=204.221.110.202

set host name=toni ip=204.221.110.203
