Edit To Or From Another Recorder

 

Slide the TV/CABLE/DBS/DVD switch to DVD.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1 Make connections.

You can use your unit as the source player or as the recording

If connecting a unit with an S-VIDEO connector, it is recommended to

 

use the supplied S-Video cable to minimize picture degradation while

 

editing.

Recorder

2 Press VCR/DVD repeatedly to select the recording deck.

3 Press INPUT SELECT +/– on the unit or INPUT +/– or AUX on

TV receiver

 

the remote control to select “L-1” when using this unit as the

 

recording deck.

 

Set “REAR AUX L-1” to “VIDEO” for the [VIDEO INPUT] connector,

 

or “S-VIDEO” for the [S-VIDEO INPUT] connector, depending on the

 

connector being used. ( pg. 59) This setting is also applied to the

 

VCR deck.

 

4 For VCR deck only

Another recorder

Player

Set “PICTURE CONTROL” to the appropriate mode. ( pg. 61)

5 Press REC MODE repeatedly to set the recording mode. ( pg. 36)

6 Engage the Play mode of the source player.

For VCR deck only

Press 7 and 9 simultaneously to set to record pause mode. 7 Engage the Record mode of the recording deck.

For VCR deck only

After about 10 seconds, press 4 to start recording.

8 Stop recording on the recording deck, then stop playback on the source player.

NOTES:

All necessary cables can be obtained from your dealer.

When you use this unit as the source player for editing, be sure to set “SUPERIMPOSE” to “OFF” before starting. ( pg. 59)

When you select “EDIT” to dub tapes in step 4, be sure to select “AUTO” (or “NORM” when “VIDEO CALIBRATION” is set to “OFF”) after you finish dubbing the tapes.
