Cancel The Finalization Of A DVD-RW Disc

Direct Access To “FINALIZE” Setting

1Load a DVD-RW disc to cancel the disc finalization, and perform steps 2 to 4 of “Finalize A DVD-R/RW Disc” ( pg. 63) before continuing.

2Press rt to select “CANCEL

DISC FINALIZATION”, then press

ENTER.

3 Press w e to select “OK”, then press ENTER when “CANCEL DISC FINALIZATION” appears on the TV screen.

4 Press SET UP to return to the normal screen.

When the disc finalization is cancelled, the mode in which the disc was formatted is restored, making the disc recordable. ( pg. 7, 62)

When you wish to finalize or cancel the finalization of a disc, besides accessing the “FINALIZE” setting through the SET UP button, you can also use the FINALIZE button on the remote control. This FINALIZE button enables you to access the “FINALIZE” setting directly after loading the disc.

To finalize a disc

ALoad the disc.

BPress DVD so that the DVD lamp lights up on the unit. C Press FINALIZE to access the “FINALIZE” setting.

The screen in step 6 of “Finalize A DVD-R/RW Disc” ( pg. 63) appears.

D Perform steps 6 to 8 of “Finalize A DVD-R/RW Disc” ( pg. 63) to finalize the disc.

To cancel finalization

APerform steps A to C of “To finalize a disc” above.

The screen in step 2 of “Cancel The Finalization Of A DVD-RW Disc” on the left column appears.

BPerform steps 2 to 4 of “Cancel The Finalization Of A DVD-RW Disc” on the left column to cancel finalization of the disc.

NOTES:

The direct access (FINALIZE) function works only when in the DVD deck mode, on the condition that the Main Menu or Library Database DVD Navi screen is not displayed.

The direct access (FINALIZE) function will not work in the following

cases, and an operation prohibition mark “ ” appears on the TV screen.

During DVD recording or playback.

Disc is not loaded.

A playback-only disc is loaded.

A DVD-RAM or DVD VIDEO disc is loaded.

Disc reading in progress.

Disc information acquisition failure when DVD-RAM is loaded.

When this unit is in the VCR deck mode or when dubbing is in progress, the direct access (FINALIZE) function will also not work. However, “ ” will not be displayed.
