HOW TO USE THE REMOTE CONTROL
This section describes how to use your DISH Network Remote Control. Figure 1 on page 2 shows the remote control with a brief description of the buttons.
POINTING THE REMOTE CONTROL
The remote control uses infrared (IR) light signals to control the satellite receiver and TV. IR signals travel about 40 feet or less and cannot go through walls or other solid objects. To operate a device, you must point the remote control at the device, with no objects in the way.
USING THE REMOTE CONTROL FOR SATELLITE TV PROGRAMMING
SATELLITE CHANNEL CONTROL BUTTON
To use the remote control to get satellite TV programming and operate the satellite receiver, you must first press , which will do three things:
•Turns on the satellite receiver.
•Tunes your TV to the channel (3 or 4) you use to watch satellite TV programming (this function only
works if you have completed the instructions in
Setting Up to Switch the TV to Watch Satellite Programming on page 5).
•Makes the remote control buttons work as described below to support watching satellite TV programming.
SAT SAT POWER BUTTON
Press the SAT POWER button to turn the satellite receiver ON or OFF.
