ºDisc—Audio, Subtitle and Menus

Original: The original language of each disc will be selected.

Other ¢¢¢¢: Input a code number with the numbered buttons (see below).

Automatic: If the language selected for “Audio” is not available, subtitles of that language will automatically appear if available on that disc. ³Some discs are designed to start in a certain language despite any changes you make here.

ºVideo—Still Mode

Automatic: The unit automatically selects field still or frame still.

Field: Less blurred field stills are shown. Select if jittering occurs when “Automatic” is selected.

Frame: Sharper frame stills are shown. Select if small text or fine patterns cannot be seen clearly when “Automatic” is selected.

ºAudio—Digital Audio Output

On (RE-MASTER Off) (Factory preset): Digital signals are output. The re-master settings (page 23) do not affect this output.

On (RE-MASTER On): Digital signals are output. The re-master settings (page 23) are effective. The equipment you connected will be unable to output audio when the re-master circuit is functioning if it cannot handle digital signals with sampling frequencies of 88.2 kHz or more.

Off: Digital signals are not output. This improves sound quality when you are using analog connection. ³RE-MASTER is only effective on the audio signals from CDs.

ºAudio—Audio during Search

Audio will be heard when playing some DVD-Audio despite the settings you make here.

ºOthers—DVD-Video Mode

Off: DVD-Audio discs are played as DVD-Audio discs.

On: DVD-Audio discs are played in a similar fashion to DVD-Video discs. ³The setting reverts to “Off” if the disc tray is opened or the unit is turned off.

1.Input a 4-digit password with the numbered buttons and press [ENTER].

³If you enter a wrong number, press [CANCEL] to erase it before you press [ENTER].
