Output/Input Set		*	The boldface settings below indicate the settings at your purchase.
		8 L-1 OUTPUT — SCART VIDEO / SCART S-VIDEO / SCART
● Turn on the TV and select the AV mode.			RGB / COMPONENT
		SCART VIDEO: If a connected appliance’s input is compatible only

			with regular video signals, set to “SCART VIDEO”.
		SCART S-VIDEO: If a connected appliance’s input is compatible
			with Y/C signals, set to “SCART S-VIDEO”. You can obtain high-
			quality picture. (For connection, be sure to use a 21-pin SCART
			cable that is compatible with the Y/C signal.)
VHS		SCART RGB: If a connected appliance’s input is compatible with
	DVD		RGB signals, set to “SCART RGB”. You can obtain a high-quality
			RGB picture.
		COMPONENT: If a connected appliance’s input is compatible with
			Y/PB/PR signals, set to “COMPONENT”. You can obtain a high-
			quality Y/PB/PR picture. Switch the TV to the input that you can
			watch component video pictures.
		8 L-1 INPUT — VIDEO / S-VIDEO
		VIDEO: If a connected appliance’s output is compatible only with
			regular video signals, set to “VIDEO”.
ENTER		S-VIDEO: If a connected appliance’s output is compatible with Y/C
			signals, set to “S-VIDEO”. You can obtain a high-quality picture.
			(For connection, be sure to use a 21-pin SCART cable that is
			compatible with the Y/C signal.)
		NOTES:
		● If “L-1 OUTPUT” is set to “SCART S-VIDEO”, “SCART RGB” or
			“COMPONENT”, it is not possible to set “L-1 INPUT” to “S-VIDEO”.
		● If “L-2 SELECT” is set to “DECODER”, it is not possible to set “L-1
			INPUT” to “S-VIDEO”.
		● If “L-2 SELECT” is set to “DECODER”, it is only possible to set “L-1
			OUTPUT” to “SCART VIDEO”.
		● Component video signals are not output from the [L-1 IN/OUT]
			connector.
	SET UP	● When Progressive scan mode is engaged, it is not possible to select
			the setting of “L-1 OUTPUT”. ( pg. 44)

L-1 Output And L-1 Input Setting

The [L-1 IN/OUT] connector accepts and delivers either a composite signal (regular video signal) or a Y/C signal (a signal in which the luminance and chrominance signals are separated). Set “L-1 OUTPUT” and “L-1 INPUT” to the appropriate mode depending on the type of appliance connected to the unit’s [L-1 IN/OUT] connector.

1 Press SET UP to access the Main Menu screen.

2 Press w e to select “FUNCTION SET UP”, then press t.

3 Press w e to select “VIDEO	DVD SET UP FUNCTION SET UP INITIAL SET UP
IN/OUT”, then press t.	VIDEO IN/OUT	RECORDING SET	DISPLAY SET	OTHERS

4 Press rt to select “L-1	MONITOR TYPE		4:3LB
	F-1 INPUT		VIDEO
OUTPUT” or “L-1 INPUT”, then
	L-1 INPUT		VIDEO
press ENTER.
	L-1 OUTPUT		SCART VIDEO
5 Press rt to select the	L-2 SELECT		VIDEO/RGB
	SET UP	OK	THEN PRESS [ENTER]
appropriate setting, then press
			SELECT WITH [CURSORS]
ENTER.	EXIT	SELECT

6 Press SET UP to complete the setting.

NOTES:

●If “L-1 INPUT” or “L-1 OUTPUT” is set to “S-VIDEO”, the monochrome signal is output from VHS deck. Be sure to select setting other than “S-VIDEO” when you use the VHS deck.

●When the progressive mode is set, be sure to set “L-1 OUTPUT” to “COMPONENT”. ( pg. 44)

●If “L-1 OUTPUT” is not set to “COMPONENT”, it is not possible to output images from the [COMPONENT VIDEO OUT] connector.
