Selecting disc languages [DVD]

This is to select the audio soundtrack language, subtitle lan- guage and the language used in title menus or DVD menus which will always be used for every disc to be played back.

1 At the initial settings screen (on page 30)

Press the cursor buttons (A, B) to select “1 Disc Languages” and press SELECT.

2 Press the cursor buttons (A, B) to select the preferred item and press SELECT.

1Audio:

To select the audio soundtrack language.

2Subtitle:

To select the subtitle language.

3Menus:

To select the language used in title menus or DVD menus.

3 Press the cursor buttons (A, B) to select the preferred language and press SELECT.

When “1 Audio” is selected

1 English: English is selected. (Factory preset)

2 French/3 Spanish:

Each language is selected.

4 Original: The original language of each disc will be selected.

5Other UUUU: Another language can be selected. (Refer to the language codes on page 44. Press CLEAR if an incorrect language code is entered.)

When “2 Subtitle” is selected

1 Automatic: The same language selected for the “1 Audio” will be selected.

(Factory preset)

ÁIf the language selected for the “1 Audio” is actually used during play- back, the subtitles will not appear.

ÁIf another language is used during playback, the subtitles will appear in the language selected at the setup “1 Audio”.

2 English/3 French/4 Spanish:

Each language is selected.

5Other UUUU: Another language can be selected. (Refer to the language codes on page 44. Press CLEAR if an incorrect language code is entered.)

When “3 Menus” is selected

1 English: English is selected. (Factory preset)

2 French/3 Spanish:

Each language is selected.

4Other UUUU: Another language can be selected. (Refer to the language codes on page 44. Press CLEAR if an incorrect language code is entered.)

The screen illustrated in step 1 is displayed. Select “0” by using the cursor buttons (A, B) and press SELECT to return to the initial settings screen.

Note:

ÁIf the language selected is not available on the disc, the lan- guage designated by each disc will be selected.
