Video index search system

The zero return function provides a convenient method of rap- idly returning to the starting point of recording or playback. The starting point can be indexed for any location on the tape by pressing COUNTER RESET and ZERO RETURN.

1 Press DISPLAY.

2 Before playback or recording, press COUNTER RESET to set the counter to “00:00:00”.

This function enables you to locate the beginning of any recording made on the VCR.

is initiated.

Press INDEX orduring stop or play mode. For Succeeding programs: Press INDEX. For Preceding programs: Press INDEX .

(As many as 9 index points can be accessed via this method.)

When the INDEXoris pressed, the unit starts search- ing the INDEX NO. selected and finds the portion, then playback starts automatically. To stop the Index Search, press STOP.

Notes:

When you record an INDEX mark at the very beginning of the tape, the mark may not be found.

During INDEX search, the tape may stop and begin to play at a slightly different location.

INDEX may not function properly with old or worn out video tapes.

INDEX marks may not be found if it is extremely close to the point where the search began.

In recording, if you stop recording temporarily, the INDEX mark is not recorded on the tape.

5 Press ZERO RETURN. The tape will rewind and automatically stop at the “00:00:00” position.

To monitor a TV program

Press TV MONITOR while in the playback mode. The video tape will continue to play while the picture switches to the TV channel selected on the unit. Press the button to return to the playback picture.
