A tip to apply a DSP mode to the DOLBY DIGITAL Surround sound of a DVD video

You can change the format of the sound signal being output to the speakers and output jacks using the menu (see page 46).

This means, for example, even if DOLBY DIGITAL Surround sound is played by the DVD Receiver, you can output sound to the speakers in the 48 kHz/16 bit format, which lets you to use the DSP sound effects instead of DOLBY DIGITAL Surround.
