Audio Out Select

DVD VCD CD

The output sound format can be changed according to your purpose and preference by changing the sound signal conversion method.

The sound signal conversion method is selected from among the three listed below. (Note that the three items are sound signal conversion methods, not the sound signal format the sound signals are converted into.)

When “Audio Out Select” is set to “Bitstream,” the sound is output in the most suitable format automatically through the speakers and output connector/jacks. Therefore, although you can change the sound signal conversion method using the menu, leaving the “Audio Out Select” setting to “Bitstream” and changing the method according your purpose temporarily as described on page 46 is recommended.

For details (tips on using of this function, sampling frequency and quantization bit conversion table, etc.), see pages 46 and 47.

Bitstream

Normally use this setting.

96k Sound

Select when you wish to listen to sources recorded in the following frequency/quantization bit in their original sound quality:

96 kHz/24 bit

96 kHz/20 bit

96 kHz/16 bit

48 kHz/24 bit

For instructions on how to reproduce the above original sounds, see page 46.

Note

To know the factory setting for each item, see the on-screen

illustration on the left.
