Playable Video Cassette Tapes

This DVD/VCR is equippedwith a High Quality (HQ) systemand is compatible with existingVideoHome System(VHS) equipment. Philips Consumer Electronicsrecommends that you use only video

cassettetapes which are labeledwith the _ mark.The use of other tapesmay result in poor picture quality and excessivedeposits on the video heads,which maynot be covered by the warranty if damageoccurs.The 19micron head providesa better picture when you view tapes recorded in slow speed (SLP).

Recording Prevention

Video cassettetapes have record tabs to ensurethat recordings are not accidentally erased.

To prevent recording, break off the tab with a screwdriver.

To allow recording, cover the hole with cellophane tape.

DVD/VCR maintenance

Use only tapes with the _

mark.

Remove any light adhesivestick-on notes from the video cas- sette tape before putting the tape in the DVD/VCR. Removable labels can jam the DVD/VCR.

Periodic maintenanceis required to maintainyour DVD/VCR's excellent performance.This DVD/VCR hasanAutomatic Head Cleaner. However,the video headswill require replacement even- tually.Only an authorized service center should perform this set- vice.
