Press the Û Menu Control button to select the reset mode you wish to use. Note first, however, the wording on the bottom line. This line, System Edit, allows you to “lock” the system so that no reset mode may be accidentally invoked. Locking and unlocking the reset modes is accomplished simply by pressing the Û Menu Control button to highlight the System Edit line, and press- ing either the Ü or Ý Menu Control buttons to change from one state to the other. When the line reads System Edit Ð LOCKED, it is not possible to highlight, or select, any choice but System Edit (to unlock, if desired), or the top line, which indicates how to return to the Main Menu.

When the bottom line reads System Edit Ð UNLOCKED, you may highlight any of the reset modes, then press the Ý Menu Control button to go to the next screen which is simply a warning that if you now press MENU you will lose all information you have programmed in that part of the 5.0’s setup, and will revert to factory-set default data. (The fourth choice, Reset System, resets all user-input data to defaults.) These warning screens are illustrated in Figures OSD-33, OSD-34, OSD-35 and OSD-36.
