PREPARING THE CAMERA

USING THE ZOOM

The camera has a 3x optical zoom lens with an effective zoom range 7.7 mm to 23.1 mm (equivalent to 37 mm to 111 mm in 35 mm film format) as well as 4x digital zoom capability.

1.Press T (Tele) to zoom in to your subject.

While the optical zoom is activated, mechanical sound come from the lens movements can be heard. You can also see the lens retracts.

While the digital zoom is activated, the zoom scale indicator (4.5x, 6.0x, 7.5x, 9.0x, 10.5x, 12x) will be shown on the LCD.

2.Press W (Wide) to zoom out.

Note: Digital zoom is not available in Movie mode.

TURNING THE DIGITAL ZOOM ON OR OFF

1.Press the MENU button.

2.Press the button to select the Setup Menu.

3.Press the or button to select Digital Zoom.

4.Press the or to set digital zoom On or Off.

5.Press the MENU button to close the menu window.

USING THE MODE DIAL

Use the mode dial to switch between the three shooting modes:

The A/S/M (advanced) mode include:

A Mode: Aperture Priority Mode, that is, the Aperture value can be set manually, while the shutter speed is set automatically.

S Mode: Shutter Speed Priority Mode, that is, the Shutter speed can be set manually, while the Aperture will be set automatically.

M Mode: Both Aperture and Shutter Speed can be set manually.
