PREPARING THE CAMERA

ABOUT CAMERA MEMORY AND STORAGE

Internal Memory

The digital camera is equipped with a 16 MB internal memory. If no SD card is inserted in the camera, all pictures/video clips recorded by the camera will be stored in the internal memory.

SD Memory Card

When SD card is inserted in the camera, all pictures and video clips recorded by the camera will be stored on the SD card by using the Design Rule for Camera File System (DCF) protocol. The DCF protocol is designed to accommodate file and data exchange between digital cameras and other devices. Photos that are taken by a DCF camera can be viewed on DCF-compatible cameras from other manufacturers.

FORMATTING INTERNAL OR SD CARD MEMORY

When you wish to delete all the files in the internal memory or on your SD card, or when you newly brought an SD card, format it by following steps below:

1.Insert the SD card if it is to format SD card.

2.Turn on the camera.

3.Press the MENU button.

4.Press the button to select the Setup Menu.

5.Press the or button to select Format then press the OK button.

6.Press the OK button again to confirm the selection. The formatting progress bar will appear on the LCD.

7.Press the MENU button to close the menu window.

Note:

1.Formatting will erases all the data in the internal memory or on the SD card, including protected files. Please check the contents in the memory before formatting it.

2.SD cards formatted in another camera, computer or peripheral device may not operate correctly. When that happens, reformat the SD card with this camera.

TURNING THE CAMERA ON / OFF

Status LED (green)

 

Power On

 

Slide the Power Switch to the right side and hold it until the green

status LED lights up. It takes

about 2 seconds to power on the camera.

 

• When the camera is turned on, the lens barrel will extend out

automatically. Do not block the

lens barrel.

 

Note:

1.You may also press and hold the button for more than 1 second to turn the camera on in Review mode to review the stored picture or video clips.

2.If the camera cannot be powered on, the batteries may be drained. Recharge the battery and try again.
