Several displays that aid in the operation of the camcorder appear in the viewfinder. The only display that is recorded on the tape when it appears is the date display.

1AE (Auto Exposure) Shutter Speed Displays

The shutter speed selected by the camcorder appears here.

2Manual Focus

FOCUS appears when manual focus is turned on.

No indicator appears when auto focus is turned on.

Press both FOCUS buttons together to turn auto focus on and off.

3ZOOM, I.ZOOM, and Zoom Level Indicator

The zoom level indicator appears during zooming.

ZOOM appears when you press T and zoom in the telephoto direction more than twelve times.

I.ZOOM appears when you press INST. ZOOM to enlarge the picture 1.5 times.

4Status

The following status displays appear.

REC appears during recording.

EE appears during fast forwarding, and FF appears during rewinding.

appears during record pause.

A/V DUB appears during audio/video dubbing.

5Time Counter With Memory Stop

The counter shows the amount of elapsed recording or playback time.

Press DISPLAY on the remote to turn memory stop on or off. An M appears with the time counter when memory stop is turned on.

Note: During playback or play pause, you can press DISPLAY on the cam- corder to turn memory stop on and off.
