Cleaning the Scanner

Warning:

Do not remove any covers or screws other than those specified in this manual. Some parts of the machine are at a high voltage and could give you an electric shock. When the machine needs to be checked, adjusted, or repaired, contact your service representatives.

Do not take apart or attempt any modifications to this machine. There is a risk of fire, electric shock, explosion or loss of sight.

Caution:

When you pull out the plug from the socket, grip the plug to avoid damaging the cord and causing fire or electric shock.

Periodic cleaning is required in order to maintain this scanner in good condition.

First, wipe away any dirt with a dry, soft cloth. If the dirt cannot be removed with a dry cloth, moisten a soft cloth with water, wring it out thoroughly, and then wipe away the dirt. If water is not sufficient to remove the dirt, wipe off the dirt with a mild detergent solution, then wipe the detergent away with water, and then wipe the area with a dry cloth until all moisture has been removed.

Important

Do not use volatile chemicals such as benzene or paint thinner to clean the scanner, and do not spray insect sprays, etc., on the scanner. Such chemicals could deform, discolor, or crack scanner components.

If there is any dust or dirt inside the scanner, wipe it away with a dry, clean cloth.
