Menu Settings

Recording Menu (Still Image)

You can adjust various settings, such as brightness and white balance, to suit the subject or purpose. You can also change settings such as picture quality and gain.

MANUAL SETTING

Recording settings can be adjusted manually.

 

They are displayed only when recording in the manual mode.

FACE PRIORITY AE/

Detects faces and adjusts the brightness and focus automatically.

SELF-TIMER

Use this when taking a group photo.

SHUTTER MODE

Continuous shooting settings can be adjusted.

IMAGE SIZE

Sets the image size (number of pixels) for still images.

IMAGE QUALITY

Sets the image quality.

GAIN UP

Makes the subject appear bright automatically when recording in dark places.

AUTO REC

Enables the unit to record still images automatically by sensing the changes in brightness within the red frame displayed on

 

the LCD monitor.

FACE PRIORITY AE/AF

Detects faces and adjusts the brightness and focus automatically.

Details

 

 

OFF

Deactivates the function.

 

 

ON

Activates the function.

 

 

If “METERING AREA/ TYPE” is set to “SPOT”, it will be switched to “ENTIRE SCREEN”.

When the following settings are made, “FACE PRIORITY AE/AF” will switch to “OFF”.

When “SCENE SELECT” is set to “SPOTLIGHT”

When “FOCUS” is set to “MANUAL”

When “FOCUS ASSIST” is selected

When “BACKLIGHT COMP.” is set to “ON”

When “METERING AREA/ TYPE” is set to “SPOT”

Displaying the Item

1Select still image mode.

2Touch D to display the menu.

3Select “FACE PRIORITY AE/AF” and touch C.

CAUTION:

When “FACE PRIORITY AE/AF” is set to “ON”, the following settings will change.

If “SCENE SELECT” is set to “SPOTLIGHT”, it will be switched to “OFF”.

If “FOCUS” is set to “MANUAL”, it will be switched to “AUTO”.

If “BACKLIGHT COMP.” is set to “ON”, it will be switched to “OFF”.

Memo:

You cannot activate “FACE PRIORITY AE/AF” if “SELF-TIMER” is set to “FACE DETECTION”.

Depending on the condition, faces may not be detected.

SELF-TIMER

Use this when taking a group photo.

Deactivates the self-timer.

 

 

2SEC

Starts recording 2 seconds after the SNAPSHOT button is

 

pressed.

 

 

10SEC

Starts recording 10 seconds after the SNAPSHOT button is

 

pressed.

 

This setting is suitable for taking group photos.

 

 

FACE

Detects faces when the SNAPSHOT button is pressed. Re-
