NOTE Changing the Preset Button Settings for Program Type

After selecting the type of program to be stored in a certain preset button, press that button for at least two seconds. The previously stored data for that button are erased and the new program type is stored.

3Seeking the Selected Program Type

Press the 4 or ¢ button to make a seek of frequencies with your selected type of program.

The display blinks and the seek starts.

If your selected type of program is found, the name or the frequency of the station is displayed and the station is tuned into.

"PTY Found" is displayed for about 30 seconds.

If you make no key input in 30 seconds, the PTY selection mode will turn off automatically.

NOTE

If no program can be found, "NO PTY" is displayed.

If you want to select another type of program, repeat steps 2 and 3 above.

Switching to Other Stations with the Same Type of Program: When "PTY Found" is displayed, perform auto seek tuning. The tuner scans for another station with the same type of program.

Canceling Program Type Function During Its Operation:

Press the PTY button.

Confirming Program Type:

Press the DISP button.

The program type of the station currently tuned to will be displayed for five seconds. During that time, "Entry" will blink in the display.

NOTE

If you tune to frequencies for which no program type has been stored, "No Entry" will be displayed.

Registration of a station as a PTY

You can register a station as a program type.

To register a non-RDS station as a program type:

1Tune your radio to the non-RDS station that you want to register as the program type.

2Press the PTY button to enter the program type selection mode.

3Press the FM/AM button to select the program type you want to register. Follow the instructions in 2 to enter the program type selection mode.

4Press the NAME button for at least two seconds.
