Users

To prevent any unauthorized use of the product, the AXIS 230 supports multi-level and multi-user password protected access. A maximum of 20 users can be defined. An Administrator has unrestricted access to the product's administration tools and can determine the registration and rights for all other users.

The Users List displays all of the users currently defined. The administrator user name

(root) is permanent and cannot be deleted. The default password (pass), however, can and should be changed.

Important!

Note that if the root password is not changed, then the Enable anonymous viewer login checkbox will have no effect, checked or not.

The Enable anonymous viewer login checkbox will, after the root password has been changed, be dis- abled by default.

All Axis products are shipped with the same default Administrator password.

Changing the root password and, later, changing it back to pass will return the security function to its original state.
