Radiotext
Radiotext is an RDS feature used by the broadcasters to transmit texts.
The texts can be displayed in two subse- quent lines with a maximum of 64 charac- ters each, which are moved through the dis- play slowly.
Depending on the individual broadcaster, these texts can be of a different nature, for example brief news, program information, commercial broadcasts, etc.
For safety reasons, the radiotext function can only be used if the ignition is switched off. When activating this function with the ignition being switched on, the message “NO TEXT” will appear in the display.
To read radiotext messages, proceed as follows:
Park the vehicle in a suitable place and turn off the ignition. The radio will be switched off automatically.
•In order to reactivate the car radio, press the ON button for about 1 sec- ond.
•Select a station and press DIS for about 1 second (BEEP).
It takes some time until the aired messages are fully available in the system. In the mean- time, the radio will display the message “WAIT”.
Afterwards, the text will be displayed.
If the adjusted station does not provide ra- diotext information, the message “NO TEXT” is displayed.
When tuning to another station, “WAIT” will be displayed before the radiotext appears.
To switch off radiotext:
•Press DIS for about 1 second or turn on the ignition and the radio.
