DNC – Dynamic Noise Covering

With the help of DNC it is possible to enjoy the same volume while driving that you find pleasant in the stationary vehicle.

The volume is increased at different rates for different frequency bands, depend- ing on the noise in the moving vehicle.

In this way, the volume and the sound balance remain pleasant to the ear, re- gardless of whether the vehicle noise increases or decreases. Noise of very short duration, e.g. crossing railway tracks, is ignored.

Adjusting DNC

S

For DNC to operate correctly, it is necessary to first perform a calibration proce- dure with the help of a microphone. Using the enclosed self-adhesive Velcro tape, install the microphone permanently in the immediate vicinity of the console, but not close to sources of noise such as heating vents and air-conditioning.

The mouth of the microphone must face into the passenger area. Select a quiet area for the calibration and switch the engine off.

Press S briefly.

Press DNC for approximately 1 second. DNC-ADJUSTwill appear in the display header.

The DNC calibration procedure has begun and will run through automatically. You can abort the procedure by

pressing STOP .

As soon as DNC-ADJUST READY appears in the display, the calibration proce- dure has been completed.
