ISO Antenna Plug

ISO Antenna Converter Plug (sold separately) Antenna Extension Cable (Included)

Right Front (+) Speaker Input Lead (Grey) Right Front (–) Speaker Input Lead (Grey/Red) Left Front (+) Speaker Input Lead (White)

Left Front (–) Speaker Input Lead (White/Red) Remote Control Output Lead (White/Brown)

Connect this lead to the remote control input lead. This lead outputs the controlling signals from the remote control.

Remote Control Output Lead (White/Brown)

Connect this lead to the remote control input lead. This lead outputs the controlling signals from the remote control.

Guide Control Lead (White/Green)

If an external audio processor is connected, connect this to the guide control lead.

Illumination Lead (Orange)

This lead may be connected to the vehicle's instrument cluster illumination lead. This will allow the backlighting of the commander to dim whenever the vehicle's lights are turned on.

Power Supply Connector

Steering Remote Control Interface Connector

To steering remote control interface box.

Remote Control Eye Jack

Connect this to the remote control sensor unit.

Factory System Input Terminal

Navigation Input (RGB Input) Terminal

Connect this to the RGB output terminal of the Navigation System.

Display Output (RGB Output) Terminal

Connect a 13P RGB terminal equipped monitor using the RGB cable supplied with the unit.

Video Output Terminal

Connect this to the external front monitor using the RCA extension cable supplied with the unit.

Subwoofer output Terminal

Connect the input lead of an amplifier for the subwoofer to this terminal.

Rear output Terminal

Use when connecting an amplifier or equalizer.

Front output Terminal

Use when connecting an amplifier or equalizer.

Ai-NET Connector

Connect this to the output or input connector of other product (CD changer, Equalizer, iPod adapter*, etc.) equipped with Ai-NET.

*If you connect to iPod, you need the optional adapter (KCA-420i). For details on connection, refer to the Owner’s Manual of the KCA- 420i.

Guide Output Terminal

If an external audio processor is connected, outputs the navigation interrupt voice signal that is input from the Alpine navigation system, or the speaker input terminal.

Commander Terminal

AV Select Connector

When this connector is connected to the optional expansion box (VPE-S431), connect this to the HEAD UNIT terminal of VPE-S431.

AUX Input Terminals

If these terminals are connected to the optional expansion box (VPE-S431), the AUX input terminals are not used on this unit. Connect AUX IN 1, 2 and 3, and the AUX OUT 1 and 2 terminals of the expansion box (VPE-S431) to the external device(s).

Antenna Receptacle

ISO Connector (Included)

Ground Lead (Black)

Connect this lead to a good chassis ground on the vehicle. Make sure the connection is made to bare metal and is securely fastened using the sheet metal screw provided.

Remote Turn-On Lead (Blue/White)

Connect this lead to the remote turn-on lead of your amplifier or signal processor.

To amplifier or equalizer

Power Antenna Lead (Blue)

Connect this lead to the +B terminal of your power antenna, if applicable.

Audio Interrupt In Lead (Pink/Black)

To vehicle phone

Parking Brake Lead (Yellow/Blue)

Connect this lead to the power supply side of the parking brake switch to transmit the parking brake status signals to the VPA-B222R.

Connect this lead to the parking brake lead powered when parking brake is engaged.

Switched Power Lead (Ignition) (Red)

Connect this lead to an open terminal on the vehicle’s fuse box or another unused power source which provides (+) 12V only when the ignition is turned on or in the accessory position.

Battery Lead (Yellow)

Connect this lead to the positive (+) post of the vehicle’s battery.

Fuse Holder (10A)

System Switch

When connecting an equalizer or divider using Ai-NET feature, place this switch in the EQ/DIV position. When no device is connected, leave the switch in the NORM position.

Be sure to turn the power off on the unit before changing the switch position.

ALPINE/OTHER switching button

Set to “ALPINE” for normal use.

Set to “OTHER” when connecting optional display interface box.

NTSC/PAL switching button

Switch if necessary. Effective only when the ALPINE/OTHER switching button is set to OTHER.
