Data Downloading

1 Insert the CD-R/CD-RW disc containing the data.

If the optional HDA-5460 is connected, steps 2 to 7 can be performed after the data has downloaded removable hard disc. The MM DRIVER main source screen can then be selected on this unit.

If audio data is contained in a CD-R/CD-RW, set to “MP3” in “Playing MP3/WMA Data” (page 31).

2 Touch [SYS.].

The SYSTEM selection screen appears.

3 Touch [i-Personalize].

The i-Personalize screen appears.

4 Touch [] of DATA DOWNLOAD.

5 Touch [] of SOUND SETUP.

The unit starts searching the disc for data. When the data search has completed, the Data Download file selection screen is displayed.

• If a file is not found by the data search, “NO FILE” is indicated.

6 Touch [] of file which is to be downloaded.

Data downloading starts.

When data has been successfully downloaded, the confirmation screen is displayed for 5 seconds, and the screen returns to the file selection screen.

PARAMETRIC EQ data

The data is memorized in Preset 6 of Parametric EQ mode. The memorized data settings in Preset 6 (Parametric EQ mode) are automatically applied.

X-OVER (Crossover) data

The data is memorized in Preset 6 of X-OVER mode. The memorized data settings in Preset 6 (X-OVER mode) are automatically applied.

TIME CORRECTION data

The data is memorized in Preset 6 of the Time correction mode. The memorized data settings in Preset 6 (Time Correction mode) are automatically applied.

7 Touch [RETURN] to return to the previous screen.

Touch [MAIN CONT.] to return to the main source screen which was previously set.

When you download the data again, the data is overwritten in Preset 6.

Setting AMP Link (Optional)

Adjusting and Storing/Recalling the External Amplifier (Option)

When an external amplifier (MRD-M301 or MRD-M501) is connected, you can set it from this unit. Up to eight amplifiers can be set.

If amplifier settings are made on the unit, do not then change the setting with the amplifier buttons, as the amplifier display may not match the operation of the unit.

1 Touch [SYS.] on the main source screen.

The SYSTEM selection screen appears.

2 Touch [i-Personalize].

The i-Personalize screen appears.

3 Touch [] of AMPLIFIER LINK.

The AMPLIFIER LINK list screen* appears.

*Connected external amplifiers are listed, and their temperature Fahrenheit (°F), voltage, and electric current are displayed.

4 Touch [] of the amplifier to be adjusted from the AMPLIFIER LINK list screen.

The mode list screen for adjustment appears.

5 Touch [;] or [:] of the desired adjustment mode.

Adjustment mode:

INPUT SELECT / INPUT GAIN / INPUT GAIN FACTOR / LP / LP FREQ. / LP SLOPE / SUBSONIC / SUBSONIC FREQ. / P-EQ /P-EQ FREQ. / P-EQ Q / P-EQ LEVEL / BASS COMP. /

BASS COMP.MODE / T.CORR / T.CORR DELAY TIME / PHASE

/TURN ON DELAY TIME / OUTPUT DISABLE / MEMORY WRITE / MEMORY READ / NAME

For details of the adjustment mode, refer to the Owner’s Manual of the external amplifier.

6 To adjust another amplifier, touch [RETURN] and then repeat Steps 4 and 5 above.

7 Touch [RETURN] to return to the previous screen.

Touching [MAIN CONT.] restores the main source screen that was displayed before amplifier adjustment was started.

Storing Contents of the Amplifier Adjustment

1After adjusting the amplifier, select P-1 or P-2 by touching [;] or [:] of MEMORY WRITE from the adjustment mode list.

2Touch [WRITE].

The contents of the adjustment will be stored on the preset number you have touched.

The stored information remains undeleted even if a reset operation is performed, or if the battery cord is disconnected.
