CANNOT PLAY

For MD:

Signification

You are trying to play back a CD which cannot be played or there is a problem with the CD.

No disc is on the disc tray.

You are trying to play back a CD-R/RW which has not been “finalized.”

You are trying to record a CD onto an MD and a tape at the same time using x2 or x4 speed recording.

Solution

Change the CD.

Place a disc on the disc tray.

This is not a malfunction. You can play back “finalized” CD-R/RWs.

This is not a malfunction. Select normal recording speed (x1). (See page 43.)

You are trying to listen to the sound during high-speed recording.

You are trying to enter the title on the MD which already has over 1 792 characters in total.

You are trying to record a CD in program play or random play mode using x4 speed recording.

The UTOC fails to be read.

There is no more space on the MD or there are over 254 tracks.

MD is write-protected.

Solution

Change the MD if you want to enjoy playback.

This is not a malfunction.
