If “CD LOAD ERROR” appears on the display

If “UNFINALIZE” appears on the display

Noise is heard during illumination demonstration mode.

Possible Cause

Connections are incorrect or loose.

The path between the remote control and the remote sensor on the unit is blocked.

The batteries have lost their charge.

You are using the remote control far from the unit.

The antenna is not connected correctly.

The AM loop antenna is too close to the unit.

The FM antenna is not properly extended and positioned.

The AC power cord is not plugged in.

The CD is upside down.

The CD is dirty or scratched.

Small tabs on the back of the cassette are removed.

The built-in microprocessor has malfunctioned due to external electrical interference.

You are trying to play back a CD which cannot be played or there is a problem with the CD.

The CD tray does not open correctly because of the obstruction.

You are trying to play back a CD-R/RW which has not been “finalized” yet.

This unit automatically turns off and on during demonstration. If volume level is set high, you will hear this noise.

Action

Check all connections and make corrections. (See pages 6 – 9.)

Remove the obstruction.

Replace the batteries. (See page 6.)

Signals cannot reach the remote sensor. Move closer to the unit.

Reconnect the antenna securely.

Change the position and direction of the AM loop antenna.

Extend FM antenna to the best reception position.

Plug it in the AC power plug.

Put the CD in with the label side up.

Clean or replace the CD. (See page 35.)

Cover the holes with adhesive tape.

Unplug the unit then plug it back in.

Change the CD.

Press CD open/close 0 to close the CD tray, then remove the obstruction.

This is not a malfunction. You can play back “finalized” CD-R/RWs.

Turn on the unit, decrease the volume, then turn it off again.
