MANUAL RESET HI-LIMIT INSTRUCTIONS
FOR PHASE 6 MODELS
(ELECTRIC OR STEAM MODELS ONLY)
This dryer was manufactured with a manual reset basket (tumbler)/lint chamber hi-limit thermostat which is monitored by the Phase 6 computer. If the manual reset thermostat is open prior to start of the drying cycle, the dryer will start momentarily and then shut down, displaying “dRUM SAFETY FAIL” with an audio indication.
If the manual reset hi-limit thermostat opens during a drying cycle, the display will read “dRUM SAFETY FAIL” with an audio indication. If the drum temperature is above 100º F (38º C), the dryer will continue to run with no heat for 3 minutes or until the drum temperature has flattened below 100º F (38º C). The “STOP/CLEAR” button on the Phase 6 keyboard (touch pad) must be pressed to clear this “dRUM SAFETY FAIL” condition. The open manual reset hi-limit thermostat must be reset “manually” prior to the start of the next cycle.
This hi-temperature condition may be caused due to a restricted exhaust, poor airflow, or improper burner operation.
The basket (tumbler) manual reset hi-limit is locked in the chamber area.
WARNING: Discontinue power to dryer before attempting to reset hi-limit.
IMPORTANT
This dryer is equipped with a lint chamber hi-limit thermostat which must be reset manually.
WARNING: Discontinue power to dryer before attempting to reset hi-limit.
