The construction of all LP/SV units use 5/16 1±/16 inch seam allowances. There shall be no sewing repairs to the inflatable cell.

6.4.3Damage Treatment

6.4.3.1Cut away and patch singed, burnt or worn areas of the protective container. See section 6.4.5 for Protective container fabric patching procedure.

NOTE: Cut away material no more than 50 mm (2 inches) in diameter.

6.4.4Repair Materials

6.4.4.1The full description and part numbers of the materials required for repairs are detailed in section 8.0 of this manual.

6.4.5Protective Container Fabric Patching

6.4.5.1The fabric colour in the following example does not reflect the actual MSV971 protective container fabric colour.

6.4.5.2To patch minor tears and holes on the protective container fabric:

a. Clean the area around the tear of foreign material (see figure 17).
