Description and Maintenance Instructions

2.14.2The pressure of the expanding gas forces the fasteners around the periphery of the protective container to separate, automatically opening the protective container and allowing the cell to reach its fully inflated shape.

NOTE: Carbon dioxide gas does not remain in the life preserver indefinitely. Either of the oral inflator valves can be used as a means of compensating for normal cell leakage. The oral inflators are also provided as an emergency back up in the unlikely event that the CO2 inflation device fails.
