Setting the effect options
When using surround effects, there are a number of settings you can adjust.
1Press EFFECT/CH SEL repeatedly to select the setting you want to adjust.
Using the Advanced surround effects
The Advanced surround effects can be used for a variety of additional surround sound effects. Most Advanced Surround modes are designed to be used with film soundtracks, but some modes are also suited for music sources. Try different settings with various soundtracks to
see which you like.1

1• If you press ADVANCED SURROUND when the headphones are connected, the PHONES SURROUND mode will automat- ically be selected.
•Depending on the source and the sound mode you have selected, you may not get sound from the surround back speakers in your setup. For more on this, refer to Using surround back channel processing on page 32.
•When an Advanced Surround listening mode is selected, the effect level can be adjusted using the EFFECT parameter in Setting the effect options below.
