OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Battery Charging Instructions

Observe and Obey:

Do not use an external charger or booster battery.

Charge the battery in a well-ventilated area.

Use the proper AC input voltage for charging as indicated on the charger.

Use only a Genie authorized battery and charger.

Use the engine or the AC battery charger to recharge the batteries.

Charging the Batteries with the Engine

Running the engine will automatically charge the batteries.

All lift and drive functions can be operated while the engine is running.

Charging the batteries with the engine does not fully charge the batteries. Periodically, use the AC battery charger to fully charge the batteries.

Charging the Batteries with the AC Charger

1Be sure the engine (if equipped) is turned off.

2Be sure the batteries are connected before charging the batteries.

3Open the machine covers. The covers should remain open for the entire charging cycle.

4Remove the battery vent caps and check the battery acid level. If necessary, add only enough distilled water to cover the plates. Do not overfill prior to the charge cycle.

5Replace the battery vent caps.

6Connect the battery charger to a grounded AC circuit.

7Turn the battery charger on.

8The charger will automatically shut off when the charging cycle is complete.

9Check the battery acid level when the charging cycle is complete. Replenish with distilled water to the bottom of the fill tube. Do not overfill.
