Maintenance Tasks

User levels

The IP120 allows three modes to configure the phone:

User Mode (username : user, password : user)

VAR mode (username : var, password : var)

Administrator Mode (username : admin, password : admin)

Administrator mode grants unlimited access to the phone configuration on both the web and phone interface. User Mode is not able to access the settings on the phone interface such as: Accounts, Network, Reset to Factory, and other advance

phone settings. VAR mode grants access to subset of Administrator functions.

Administrator Mode

The default administrator password is admin.

To change the administrator password via the phone interface:

1)Make sure active User Type is admin

2)Press the Menu soft key[3.SETTINGS[2.ADVANCED

3)The user will be prompted to enter the current password.

4)Scroll to the Set Password option, then press the OK button or the Enter soft key.

5)Enter the current password, press the DOWN navigation key, then the new pass- word. Finally, press the DOWN navigation key to re-confirm the new password.

6)Press the OK button or the Save soft key to confirm the change, or the Back soft key to return to previous menu.

To change the administrator password via the web interface: Go to SECURITY[PASSWORD

The default username: password for the web interface is admin:admin.
