DATE/TIME

NOTES:

1.You can choose to set the time manually, or you can allow it to be set automatically with incoming caller ID information. The time will be set automatically only if you subscribe to caller ID service provided by your local telephone company (page 24). The date and time for the answering machine need to be set separately (page 31).

2.Caller ID will not set the year. See page 31 for instructions on how to set the year.

HOME AREA CODE

NOTE: If, in the future, your telephone service provider requires you to dial 10 digits to make a local call (area code + phone number), program your home area code to 000.

Date & time

To manually set the date and time on the handset display:

1.Press MENU/SELECT in the idle mode to enter the handset main menu.

2.Press CID or DIR until the screen displays DATE/TIME.

3.Press MENU/SELECT to view or set date and time.

4.Press CID or DIR to change the month in the date and time line at the bottom of the display, then press MENU/SELECT.

5.Repeat step four to set the date, hour, minute, and AM/PM.

6.Press MENU/SELECT to save selection and return to the main menu.

Home area code

If you dial seven digits to make a local call (area code not required), you can program your area code into the telephone as the home area code. After setting, if you receive a call from within your home area code, the screen will display the telephone number with the home area code. However, the home area code will not be shown when reviewing the caller ID history.

To program the home area code:

1.Press MENU/SEL when the phone is not in use to enter the handset main menu.

2.Press CID or DIR until the screen displays

HOME AREA CODE.

3.Press MENU/SEL.

4.Press the dial pad keys to enter a three-digit home area code.

5.Press MENU/SEL to save and return to the main menu.
