Answering System

3 To stop recording, release {GREETING}.

L The greeting message is played back automatically.

Note:

L If your greeting message is under 3 seconds in length, the prerecorded greeting message is used.

Playing back the greeting message Quickly press {GREETING} once.

Erasing your greeting message Press {GREETING}, and then press {ERASE} while your greeting message is playing.

Prerecorded greeting message

The unit plays a prerecorded greeting message for callers and asks them to leave messages if:

you do not record your own greeting message

you erase your own greeting message

your greeting message is under 3 seconds in length

Base unit

To play back the prerecorded greeting message, quickly press {GREETING} once. Make sure you erase your own greeting message.

Listening to messages using the base unit

When new messages have been recorded, the number of recorded messages flashes rapidly on the base unit’s display.

Press {5}.

L The unit plays new messages.

L When you have no new messages, the unit plays back all messages.

Note:

L Pressing {ANSWER} on the handset switches answering system operations from the base unit to the handset.

Adjusting the speaker volume (8 levels)

Press {<} or {>} repeatedly while listening to a message. (The default setting is “ ”.)

Note:

L You cannot turn the speaker volume off.

Repeating a message

Press {<} during playback.

L If you press {<} 2 times during playback or press {<} once while the unit announces the message number, the previous message is played.

L If you press {<} when you do not play back the messages, the key guidance starts.

Skipping a message

Press {>} during playback.

Stopping a message

To stop playback, press {5}.

Erasing a message

Press {ERASE} during playback.

Erasing all messages

Press and hold {ERASE} while the unit is not being used.

Note:

L You cannot erase new, unheard messages.
