Answering System for Landline

–“Greeting2”: The answering system only plays “Greeting2” for all calls.

–“Greeting1&2”: The answering system announces either “Greeting1” or “Greeting2”, depending on the time of the incoming call.*1

–“Greeting1&Only”: The answering system announces either “Greeting1” or “Greeting only”, depending on the time of the incoming call.*1

–“Greeting only”: The answering system only plays “Greeting only” for all calls.

Program this setting using either the base unit or one of the handsets.

*1 The default setting for “Greeting1” plays between “9:00 AM” and “4:59 PM”, and the default setting for “Greeting2” or “Greeting only” plays between “5:00 PM” and “8:59 AM”.

Important:

R Make sure the unit’s date and time setting is correct (page 16).

R Record the greeting message beforehand (page 55).

Selecting “Greeting only” or

“Greeting1&Only”

You can select “Greeting only” or

“Greeting1&Only”*1 which sets the unit to

announce a greeting message to callers but not record messages.

Select “Greeting only” or

“Greeting1&Only” in step 2 on “Selecting the

greeting message”, page 54.

*1 During the time when greeting only is set.

Recording your greeting message

4After a beep sounds, speak clearly about

20 cm (8 inches) away from the microphone (2 minutes max.).

Using a pre-recorded greeting message

The unit provides 2 pre-recorded greeting messages:

3Enter the desired hour and minute you wish to start “Greeting1”.

4Proceed with the operation for your unit. Handset: *: Select “AM” or “PM”. a MOKN Base unit: MAM/PMN: Select “AM” or “PM”. a MOKN

5Enter the desired hour and minute you wish to start “Greeting2” or “Greeting only”.

6Proceed with the operation for your unit. Handset: *: Select “AM” or “PM”. a MSAVEN Base unit: MAM/PMN: Select “AM” or “PM”. a MSAVEN

–If you erase or do not record your own greeting message, the unit plays a pre-recorded greeting asking callers to leave a message.

–If the greeting setting (page 54) is set to

“Greeting only” or “Greeting1&Only”, callers’ messages are not recorded and the unit plays a different pre-recorded greeting message asking callers to call again.

Resetting to a pre-recorded greeting message

If you want to use a pre-recorded greeting message once you record your own greeting message, you need to erase your own greeting message.
