Answering System Features

Caller’s recording time

You can change the maximum message recording time allotted to each caller. “1min”, “2min”, or “3min” (default): Caller messages are limited to 1 minute to 3 minutes.

Greeting only”: The unit plays the greeting message but does not record caller messages.

1 Press {MENU}.

2 Scroll to “Initial setting” by pressing {V} or {^}, then press {>}.

3 Scroll to “Set answering” by pressing {V} or {^}, then press {>}.

4 Scroll to “Recording time” by pressing {V} or {^}, then press {>}.

5 Press {V} or {^} repeatedly to select the desired setting.

L You can also select the recording time by pressing {1} to {3}, or {0}

(“Greeting only”).

6 Press {Save}, then press {OFF}.

Note:

L If message memory becomes full, the unit will automatically switch to the “Greeting only” mode.

Message alert

You can select whether or not the message indicator on the handset will flash when new messages have been recorded (page 44). The default setting is OFF.

4 Press {V} or {^} repeatedly to select “On” or “Off”.

5 Press {Save}, then press {OFF}.

Note:

L The message indicator will not flash for new messages while the handset is in use.

L While message alert is on, battery operating time will be shortened (page 13).
