TROUBLESHOOTINGGUIDE

There is no sound.

There is constant, wave-like static,

There is noise.

Tape does not run.

Recording is impossible.

The REC button cannnot be depressed. (CSD-ES770 only)

Erasure is not done completely.

CD does not play.

An incorrect function was selected.

The radio station is not correctly tuned.

The unit is picking up outside noise.

I QThe II PAUSE button was pressed.

The erasure prevention tab of the cassette has been broken off.

The recording head is dirty.

c The D light of the OPE/BATT/DIR indica- tor lights.

I The erasure head is dirty.

A metal or chrome tape is being used.

The disc is incorrectly placed.

The disc is dirty.

There is condensation on the lens.

The ~laver is on ~ause.

Set the FUNCTION switch to select the correct input.

Correct the tuning,

Change the location or direction of the antenna.

Turn the unit to a different orientation.

If an erroneous display or malfunction occurs, disconnect the AC cord and remove all the batteries to turn off the display. And turn the power back on.
