1FUNCTION

PLAYINGBACKA TAPE

The unit plays back both sides of the tape.

The side facing the cassette holder is the front side. The side facing inside of the unit is the reverse side.

The unit plays back the side facing the cassette holder.

1 Set the FUNCTION switch to POWER (!) STANDBY/ TAPE.

2 Insert a cassette.

@Press the /= STOP/EJECT button to open the cassette holder.

@Insert a cassette.

@Press the cassette holder lightly to close it.

3 Press the +b PLAY or + PLAY button to start play- back.

The OPE/BATT indicator lights.

Usable tapes

Use type I (normal) tapes. This unit cannot take full advantage of type

II(high/CrOL) or type IV (metal) tapes.

To change the playback direction

Press the DIR button.

To select reverse mode

s C: Press the REVERSE MODE button. Both sides of the tape are played back once.

Playback stops at the end of the reverse side.

~C3: Release the REVERSE MODE button. Both sides of the tape are played back repeatedly.

To fast forward or rewind

Press the ~ or - button.

When the end of the tape is reached in the fast forward or rewind mode

The ~ and ~ buttons are not released. Press the /4 STOP/

EJECT button to release the button.

Press the + F FWD button to fast forward.

Press the ~ REW button to rewind.

When the end of the tape is reached

The tape stops and the buttons are released.
