3.6Asegúrese de que las pinzas de cables del cargador queden bien sujetos.

4.UBICACIÓN DEL CARGADOR

ADVERTENCIA RIESGO DE EXPLOSIÓN Y DE ENTRAR EN CONTACTO CON EL ÁCIDO DE LA BATERÍA.

4.1Ubique el cargador tan lejos de la batería como los cables de CC le permitan.

4.2No coloque nunca el cargador directamente encima de la batería que está cargando, puesto que los gases de la batería corroerán y dañarán el cargador.

4.3No coloque la batería sobre el cargador.

4.4Nunca permita que el ácido de la batería se introduzca en el cargador durante la lectura de la gravedad específica del electrolito o llenado de la batería.

5.SIGA ESTOS PASOS CUANDO INSTALE LA BATERÍA EN EL VEHÍCULO.

ADVERTENCIA UNA CHISPA CERCA DE LA BATERÍA PUEDE PRODUCIR UNA EXPLOSIÓN DE LA MISMA. PARA REDUCIR EL RIESGO DE QUE SE PRODUZCAN CHISPAS CERCA DE LA BATERÍA:

5.1Maneje con cuidado los cables de C.A. y C.C. para reducir el riesgo de daños a el cofre, a la puerta y a las piezas móviles o calientes del motor. NOTA: Si es necesario cerrar el cofre durante el proceso de carga, asegúrese que el cofre no toque parte metálica de la batería o pele los cables.

5.2Mantenga despejadas las cuchillas de los radiadores, campanas, poleas y otras piezas que puedan causar lesiones.

5.3Compruebe la polaridad de los terminales de la batería. El terminal POSITIVO (POS, P, +) de la batería, normalmente tiene un diámetro mayor que el terminal NEGATIVO (NEG, N, -).

5.4Determine qué terminal de la batería está puesto a tierra (conectado) con el chasis.

5.5En un vehículo con descarga a tierra por poste negativo, conecte la pinza POSITIVA (ROJO) del cargador de batería al poste POSITIVO (POS, P, +) sin descarga a tierra de la batería. Conecte la pinza NEGATIVA (NEGRO) al chasis del vehículo o al bloque del motor alejado de la batería. No conecte la pinza al carburador, líneas de combustible o cuerpos metálicos. Conecte a una pieza metálica de calibre grueso del chasis o del bloque del motor.

5.6En un vehículo con descarga a tierra por poste positivo, conecte la pinza NEGATIVA (NEGRO) del cargador de batería al poste NEGATIVO (NEG, N, -) sin descarga a tierra de la batería. Conecte la pinza POSITIVA (ROJO) al chasis del vehículo o al bloque del motor alejado de la batería. No conecte al carburador, líneas de combustible o cuerpos metálicos. Conecte a una pieza metálica de calibre grueso del chasis o del bloque del motor.

5.7Conecte el cable de alimentación CA del cargador al tomacorriente.

5.8Para desconectar el cargador, primeramente desconecte el cable del tomacorriente, después la pinza del chasis del vehículo, seguido por la pinza del poste de la batería.
