the Base Station

The Vx670 terminal can be placed on the Base Station when not in use or to charge the battery. External peripherals can also be attached to the terminal via USB dongles while it is on the Base Station (see Attaching the USB Dongles to the Base Station).

NOTE The full-feature Base Station can also charge a spare battery while it charges the battery attached to the terminal (see Charging the Spare Battery on the Base Station).

To protect against possible damage caused by lightning strikes and electrical surges, consider installing a power surge protector.

WARNING Do not plug the power pack into an outdoor outlet or operate the terminal outdoors.

Disconnecting the power during a transaction may cause transaction data files not yet stored in terminal memory to be lost.

Attaching the While the Vx670 terminal is resting on the Base Station, you can drive external USB Dongles to peripherals through the use of USB dongles. Only one Modem Dongle and one the Base Station Serial Dongle can be connected to the Base Station. A second Modem Dongle or

a second Serial Dongle will be ignored by the terminal.

NOTE

The full-feature Base Station has USB ports for two external dongles. The standard Base Station does not have USB ports.
