If your water softener fails to work, make the following easy checks. Often, you will find whats wrong yourself and you wont have to call and wait for service. If, after making the checks, your softener still does not work right, call your Sears Service Department, or call toll free, number

Also read ERROR CODE, page 10. If an error code i not dispIayed, press and hold the SELECT button until (example:000 8 8) shows in the display. Then press SELECT again and hold until an SC code appears. It must show SC21. If any other SC number shows, the softener computer is working on incorrect input and would probably be the cause of the problem. To set SC21, press either the UP or DOWN button. Then, press select to return a flashing 12:00 AM display, and reset the timer, page 6.
