The attachmentsand grounddrive can now be used. If the engine does not acceptthe load, restart the engine and allowit to warm up for one minute using the choke as describedabove.

COLD WEATHER STARTING ( 50° F and below)

7.When engine starts, allow engine to runwith the throttlecontrolin the choke positionuntil the engine runs

roughly,then move throttlecontrolto fast position.This may requirean engine warm-up periodfrom several secondsto several minutes, depend- ing on the temperature.

AUTOMATICTRANSMISSION WARM UP

Beforedrivingthe unit in cold weather,

_ the transmissionshouldbe warmed up as follows:

1.Be sure the tractoris on level ground.

2.Place the motioncontrollever in

neutral.Release the parkingbrake and let the clutch/brakeslowlyretum to operatingposition.

3.Allowone minutefor transmissionto warm up. This can be done during

the engine warm up period.

The attachmentscan also be used

duringthe engine warm-up periodafter the transmissionhas been warmed up.

NOTE: If at a high altitude (above 3000 feet) or in coldtemperatures(below32 F) the carburetorfuel mixturemay need to

be adjustedfor best engine performance. See =TO ADJUST CARBURETOR" in the

Service and Adiustmentssectionof this manual.

PURGETRANSMISSlON

_CAUTION: Never engageor disen- gage freewheel lever whilethe engine is running.

To ensure properoperationand perfor- mance, it is recommendedthat the transmissionbe purged before operating tractorfor the firsttime. This procedurewill removeany trapped air insidethe transmissionwhichmay have developed during shippingof yourtractor. IMPORTANT: Shouldyourtransmission requireremovalfor service or replace- ment, it shouldbe purgedafter reinstalla- tionbefore operatingthe tractor.

:1. Placetractorsafely on level surface with engine off and parkingbrake set.

2.Disengage transmissionby placing

freewheel controlin freewheeling position(See =TOTRANSPORT" in thissectionof manual).

3.Sittingin the tractorseat,start engine. After the engine is running,move throttlecontrolto slow position,With motioncontrollever in neutral(N) position,slowlydisengageclutch/ brake pedal

4.Move motion controllever to full

forwardpositionand hold for five (5) seconds.Move lever to full reverse

positionand hold for five (5) seconds.

Repeat this procedurethree (3) times,

NOTE: Duringthisprocedurethere willbe no movement ofdrivewheels.The air is

being removedfrom hydraulicdrive system.

5, Move motioncontrollever to neutral

(N) position. Shut- off engineand set parkingbrake.

6.Engage transmissionby placing freewheel controlin drivingposition (See =TOTRANSPORT"in thissection of manual).

7.Sittingin the tractor seat, startengine. After the engine is running,move throttlecontrolto half (1/2) speed.With motioncontrollever in neutral(N) position,slowlydisengageclutch/ brake pedal.

8.Slowlymove motioncontrollever forward, afterthe tractormoves

approximatelyfive (5) feet, slowly move motioncontrollever to reverse position.Afterthe tractormoves approximatelyfive (5) feet retumthe motioncontrollever to the neutral(N) position.Repeat this procedurewith the motioncontrollever three (3) times.

Yourtractoris now purgedand now ready for normal operation.
